Project “Singapore – experience of economical achievements”

Kyiv Business Lyceum has started realization of the project “ Singapore – experience of economical achievements”. This project has been initiated by CC “Slavuta” under the aegis of the Ukrainian Embassy in Singapore with the support of the Chamber of Commerce of Ukraine and a chain of business-structures.

The aim of the project is to learn experience of economical success of Singapore to take a closer look at its economical, industrial, investment opportunities, and business traditions; to establish contacts between high-school students of both countries in order to create preconditions and develop further partnership.

Students of lyceum have actively started learning components of economical achievements of Singapore. The most interesting issues for searching are: “What kind of experience of Singapore could be useful for Ukraine (economical aspect)”, “Ukraine-Singapore – prospects of cooperation”., “Peculiarities of school education in Singapore. What could be used in Kyiv Business Lyceum from that experience”.

On 6.02.06 in Chamber of Commerce of Ukraine there will be a work shop on the theme: “ Singapore – experience of economical achievements”. Experts of Asian direction, businessmen who work and would like to work with Singapore and Singapore companies which work on the Ukrainian market are invited to take part in this forum.

Students of lyceum have honor to present their own vision as for secrets of economical wonder of Singapore.

The theme of presentation is: “ Singapore had managed to build such an efficient educational and professional training system which was highlighted by Times Educational Supplement (TES). Singapore was highlighted as a nation which achieved the great success in the field of education in the world. What kind of experience of Singapore could be useful for Ukraine?

Project “Singapore – experience of economical achievements” The team of the following students have started working with the project: Yevgen Vezelev, Bogdan Kudelia, Olena Mykhalchenko, Khalil Osmanov, Olga Besharova, Yuna Shaikhalieva, Iryna Demchuk, Vadym Matuzenko, Veronika Syrota, Valeria Zatuliviter, Yulia Mzshelska, Svyatoslava Maksymchuk, Olexandra Nikulova.

Team formation has not finished yet. To become its member is necessary to:

Wish to work according to the theme;
Take part in works of basic managerial training and lyceum’s projects;
To be advanced at English

Pupils of the ninth grade were offered to join the team of the tenth one.

Maria Petrova, Natalia Revenko, Maria Vyshkovska, Olena Saenko, Nastya Dolgopolova, Eugene Kozhanov, Alexandra Palevska, Alex Yaroshenko became new candidates.

Their task was to prepare brief report on the one of the following topics:

Singapore ’s economic achievements and prospects analysis
Peculiarities of Asian culture and ideology
Jus and political system of Singapore.

Currently, 20 March, Alexandra Palevska, Eugene Kozhanov, Nastya Dolgopolova, coped with the task successfully.
Congratulations!
Their reports will be placed on the Ukrainian version of the project.

Two disputes were held on the following themes:

“ Singapore – history of the social-economical wonder”;
“Educational system of Singapore: analysis of efficient experience, searching of the ways of cooperation”.

Educational project “Singapore Ukraine – youth prospects” opportunities discussion

A scheduled session of the project “Singapore Ukraine – youth prospects” was held on 2, March in Kyiv Business Lyceum

Goals:

to formulate possible work approach in frame of the project of cooperation Singapore and Ukrainian youth groups;
to functionate lyceum’s students – participants of the project;
to emphasize the criteria of enrolment for all interested to participate in project works .

The most well - grounded kinds of activity, which were proposed by students as start for cooperation, were defined:

the holding of an Internet conference with students of the same year with an aim to find out the subjects which are actual for youth (education, youth culture, business projects for senior students, etc.);
the creating of computer presentations that introduce Ukraine, Kyiv, innovative educational establishments, Kyiv Business Lyceum and educational managerial educational technology, which is realized in Lyceum ;
the formulation of the list of questions which students have after the first studying of history and contemporaneity of Singapore, the structure and peculiar features of Singaporean educational system

During the session it was determined that for establishment of fruitful project work it is necessary to choose those students who can provide the following functions:

The head of the project (responsible for creating and realization of the project; coordinates the directions of work; controls intermediate results of the project stages)
Staff manager conducts participants’ activity( if necessary finds new participants of the project from the number of Lyceum students or post- graduators) according to organizing tasks;
The heads of sections (organize the activity of the proper section, and take responsibility for its results);
Project participants are responsible for the exact part of work.

3. Four criteria, a candidate for the project must correspond to, were formulated by participants:

Active participating in managerial training program
Good command of English
Personal goals as for the project
Fulfilling of the testing task to join the project
